Yoga Nidra is a guided practice of deep relaxation into the liminal space between waking and sleeping. It is a more efficient and effective form of physiological rest and rejuvenation than sleep! Traditionally, yoga nidra is practiced as a powerful method for releasing ourselves from our conditioned mental and emotional patterns (samskaras) — the psychological imprints or impressions that give rise to our repetitive thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Join the Shanti Sisters for and afternoon of kirtan, a practice of devotional (bhakti) yoga, a call and response singing of mantras to open the Heart, uplift the mind and connect with the Divine resonance.

In this training you will receive everything that you need to teach a dynamic yoga class integrating asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, meditation, and mantra from a place of connection and inner truth. In addition, you will have the opportunity to do deep self-development through reflection and creating the beginnings of a road map on the nature of the mind and what it means to be balanced.
Enjoy a full weekend of quiet contemplation. We will explore the path of awakening through the lens of what gets in the way of establishing and sustaining clarity and wisdom. Namely, the five hindrances described by the Buddha: desire, aversion, sloth and torpor, restlessness and worry, and doubt. We’ll practice mindful movement (yoga), seated and walking meditation, mindful eating, and restfulness and uncover the simple pleasure that is available when we pause and allow the mind to settle. We will practice together in noble silence, with clear instructions and opportunities for reflections and questions.
