Gajananam Mantra

The Gajananam mantra is the beginning chant at a Sivananda yoga class to set the vibration of the class, to centre the teacher and bring the students into the present.  This mantra represents new beginnings, removes the obstacles standing in our way, gives us strength and removes negative energy, allows a connection with the knowledge through the class and the ability to retain it, helps us to concentrate and brings purpose in all that we do.
